About Me

Jennifer Bias Bryant is a West Virginian from the southern coalfields. Born and raised in rural Logan county, she now calls Boone county home with her husband (Dr. Deric Bryant) and youngest daughter. Their oldest is a member of the WV National Guard and lives in Virginia.

Raised in the small community of Sharples, which was bombarded during the lead up to the Battle of Blair Mountain, Jennifer learned early and often the importance of solidarity. As a child, she cut her teeth on organizing and activism by joining with fellow students in opposition of school closure & helping feed striking UMWA miners and their families.

When Sharples High School was closed, she began attending Scott High School, finishing in 1998. Jennifer then headed to WV State University where she graduated with a degree in Criminal Justice with a focus in Sociology. At State, she served in student government and on many committees and organizations. As an adult, she has worked on issues including protecting breastfeeding mothers, civil rights and liberties, and community education and engagement. During the pandemic, she created and cohosted a video podcast series called “The MOV Public Forum”, which interviewed candidates (regardless of party) and community members.

She knows that WV deserves a brighter path forward and that begins when we elect leadership who understand the needs and issues facing the people, values listening to the concerns and ideas of their constituents, and is willing to work together for the good of the people regardless of political party to make progress happen.

I’m so glad you found your way here! I’m running for the WV House of Delegates – District 32.

I’m not a politician, I am a member of our community who believes that we can and should be doing better.

I am committed to identifying the issues (& solutions) facing our area.  Send me to Charleston where I will work together with elected officials and community members to implement the changes that will improve the lives of our people. I know that when we work together, we can make amazing things happen.

That’s my goal, a brighter path forward.

I look forward to hearing from you, whether that’s to chime in on a problem, pitch a possible fix, or even to get involved!
